Glee Fashion: Britney 2.0

rachelBB

Glee fashion? Remember when Brittany was named most fashionable teenager by the Sartorialist?

Last night’s episode of Glee, Britney 2.0 was all kinds of awesome. It had all my favorite things. Mashups. Britney Spears. Cheetoes.

Rachel Berry’s Oops I did it again rendition was so hot, I was worried that Quinn might get pregnant again. (Yes, I know that’s not how people actually get pregnant.) and I loved  Artie and Blaine’s Boys/Boyfriend mashup.

But to me, the greatest part of Glee this week was Brittany’s lost and found ensemble featuring a pair of orange crocs and banded acid washed denim was so epic, I fully expect to see those jeans on the Free People website for $300. (Don’t believe me? Check out their vintage coveralls right now.)

Not feeling Brittany’s “World’s Best Grandma” sweatshirt? Check out some of the more mainstream fashion of Glee, including  Rachel’s striped shorts and Kate Hudson’s sheer sweater, which might have been my favorite part of this week’s Glee.

Besides the cheetoes, I mean.

Glee Fashion: Premiere Rachel and Marley’s sweater

You know, the thing that keeps me coming back to Glee isn’t the music.

It’s the hope.

I know that sounds hokey, but it’s true. Even at the dregs of the Quinn in a wheelchair storyline, I had hope that the New Directions would win nationals. That Quinn would get into Yale.

That Rachel would come to her senses and not marry Finn in some kind of a Toddlers and Tiaras prequel.

And I have hope that season 4 of Glee will bring us back to the Glee we first fell in love with. Uptempo current pop tunes, interspersed with underdog victories.

And a plethora or Marc Jacobs and Milly sweaters.

That are still available for purchase.

Yeah, not sure why they didn’t just pretend it was Marc Jacobs. That would have been just as impressive

Win It: Glee Fashion Rachel’s nameplate necklace

Old habits are hard to break.

Like bursting out into song, getting back together with your high school boyfriend, or buying personalized jewelry from your favorite designer.

For me, one habit I won’t be breaking is my weekly watching (and hopefully recapping) of Glee fashion. It’s one of my inaugural shows here on Possessionista, and it just wouldn’t be the same without Rachel, Emma and Quinn’s Glee style.

In honor of the return of Glee (and hopefully some exciting new storylines) I’ve partnered with Ryan Ryan jewelry, who designed Rachel’s Finn necklace, Little R, Big Apple, Chastity Charm, Prom Pendant and star necklace to premiere the latest design – Rachel’s iconic nameplate necklace.

One lucky reader will win the same necklace in her own name (I don’t suggest getting Rachel, unless that’s actually your name.)

I’ll announce the winner on September 13th during the premiere of Glee.

Glee Fashion Preview: Marley Rose’s contrast lace top

Marley Rose’s contrast trim lace top
similar: YesStyle

Today my children went back to school which means two things: summer is over and Glee fashion is back in session.

If you’ve followed the return of Glee, you know that some of your favorite Glee personalities will be returning, while others have officially graduated.

Among the latter, the incredible Lou Eyrich, Glee’s costume designer, who has moved onto American Horror Story.

As is the case in high school, when one senior graduates they leave behind a legacy, and in this case, Lou’s longtime costume assistant Elizabeth Martucci has taken the reins. And along with her fresh blood is a new cast of characters including Marley Rose AKA new Rachel whose lace contrast trim sleeveless blouse I’ve been obsessing over for days.

Welcome back, McKinley High.

Nordstrom Half Yearly Pretty Little Sale

Hanna’s pink jeans
Elizabeth and James. Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

Patience, like saving yourself for marriage and a good wardrobe, is a virtue.

So while you’re not supposed to covet thy neighbor’s anything, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’ve been coveting Hanna from Pretty Little Liars pink jeans all week.

Apparently the shopping Gods don’t frown too strongly on my sins, because today is the Nordstrom half-yearly sale – kind of like the high holidays for Possessionistas.

And there, nestled between Rachel from Glee‘s Marc Jacobs finch dress, Kate Middleton’s coral jeans  Serena VanDerWoodsen‘s Gryphon trench and Alex from Happy EndingsFree People sweater, were the pink jeans marked down 40%.

Sometimes it feels good to be a heathen.

Check out the Nordstrom half-yearly sale and let me know what you’re coveting. (I’m buying every Equipment blouse and print jean available.)
